Job summary

The Morris School District is seeking a certified New Jersey teacher with Spanish certification to join our faculty. The role emphasizes inclusive teaching, student development, and collaboration with colleagues within the district programs and policies.

Responsibilities include preparing daily instruction and weekly lesson plans, using data to differentiate instruction, engaging families, and maintaining student records, while adhering to district guidelines and professional development

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Teach content assigned (general or specialists) effectively.
• Prepare robust daily instruction and weekly lesson plans per district programs and policies.
• Collaborate with a PLC to reflect and improve teaching and learning for all students.
• Integrate technology and interactive elements into instruction.
• Use district data sources to analyze progress and differentiate instruction.
• Build honest relationships with parents to update on progress and learning style.
• Prepare personalized assignments, homework and projects per district policy.
• Grade with feedback and help students set learning goals.
• Monitor, evaluate and report student progress and growth.
• Maintain and update student files as needed.
• Set personal and professional goals aligned with district vision and evaluation tools.
• Attend PD sessions and meetings organized by principal/supervisor and district.
• Follow work day and attendance guidelines per negotiated contract and HR protocols.
• Meet requests for additional responsibilities by Principal/Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Collaborate with a professional learning community (PLC) to engage in reflective dialogue that will improve teaching and learning for all students
• Integrate technology and interactive elements into classroom instruction
• Utilize approved district data sources to analyze student progress and provide targeted, differentiated instruction for all students
• Build intentional and honest relationships with parents to update them on student progress and further understanding of their child's development and learning style
• Prepare and assign personalized academic assignments, homework and projects according to district policy, approved curriculum guidance and student needs
• Grade assignments in accordance with district guidelines–provide constructive feedback and work with students to set personalized learning goals aligned with grade level/content standards
• Monitor, evaluate and report student progress, including academic growth, social skills, and behavior modification
• Maintain and update files, including student paperwork, as needed
• Set personal and professional goals aligned with district and school vision and the approved evaluation tool for the Morris School District
• Attend and apply strategies from professional development sessions and meetings organized by principal/supervisor and district
• Follow work day and attendance guidelines set forth by negotiated contract and Morris School District HR protocols
• Meet requests for additional responsibilities by Principal/Supervisor

Position requires appropriate New Jersey Certification.

Salary:

In accordance with the established MorrisSchool DistrictSalary Guide currently ranging from$64,425 - $115,315

Employees of the Morris School District hired after the effective date who do not reside in the State of New Jersey at the time of hire have one year from the effective date of employment to relocate their primary residence to New Jersey. Employees of the school district hired prior to the September 1, 2011 effective date of this Act are grandfathered and are not required to relocate to New Jersey.
