Job summary

Stoneham Public Schools is seeking a qualified School Psychologist to join the team at Stoneham Central Middle School.

Candidate must hold MA DESE certification with a Master’s degree or higher and demonstrate strong verbal/written communication and collaboration across administrators, teachers, parents, and students.

Responsibilities include assessments, IEP development, case management, and SEL initiatives to support student well-being and academic success.

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts DESE certification as a school psychologist.
• Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to relate to administrators, parents, teachers, students, and staff.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professionalism with a sense of humor and respectful demeanor.
• Expertise in research-based SEL curricula and de-escalation strategies (Zones of Regulation, TCIS).

Responsibilities

• Participates in identification procedures for students requiring special education, including assessments.
• Develops portions of IEPs for eligible students with counseling goals.
• Participates in all mandated case management activities and team meetings.
• Schedules, counsels, and instructs assigned students.
• Supervises all assigned students and ESPs.
• Plans and follows individualized treatment plans.
• Maintains confidential student records and documentation as required.
• Communicates student progress to staff and parents.
