Job summary

Miriam School and Learning Center is seeking a school psychologist/examiner to evaluate students aged 3 to 18 and identify academic, social, and emotional issues. Working with an LCSW, you will help provide a medical diagnosis using DSM-5-TR criteria and conduct private evaluations after school hours.

Responsibilities include reviewing records, selecting tests, interviewing parents and teachers, scoring rating scales, and preparing reports for eligibility conferences.

Qualifications

• Missouri certification as a School Psychologist or School Psychological Examiner.
• Minimum of three years of experience evaluating students under Missouri DESE criteria.
• Knowledge of Missouri DESE guidelines and DSM-V/DSM-5 criteria.
• Strong interpersonal, writing, and technology skills.
• Experience with testing and report writing using DESE and DSM-5 criteria.

Responsibilities

• Complete private evaluations requested by parents and/or private school using DSM-5 criteria.
• Analyze student records including RED, attendance and discipline files, and other data.
• Select appropriate test instruments based on data and indications.
• Interview parents/guardians and teachers to obtain background and social history.
• Distribute and score social/emotional/behavioral and adaptive behavior rating scales.
• Schedule conferences and keep SPED coordinator updated.
• Score and write diagnostic findings using Miriam Learning Center templates.
• Submit draft reports 3 working days prior to meetings.
• Attend and chair eligibility conferences; interpret test data for staff/parents.
• Present DESE eligibility criteria to multidisciplinary team.
• Guide team to determine eligibility; make instructional/behavioral recommendations.
• Finalize written report within 10 days after conference.
• Submit billing and track hours in payroll.
