Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated school psychologist just outside Chicago for a full-time contract role. You will support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth across diverse populations in a dynamic educational setting.

You will conduct evaluations, collaborate with teachers and families, develop IEPs and MTSS plans, and provide counseling and crisis intervention. Join a district that values student well-being and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Masters or specialist degree in school psychology.
  • Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist (or eligibility).
  • Experience administering and interpreting educational, behavioral, and cognitive assessments.
  • Skilled in collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families for student planning.
  • Strong communication, consultation, and documentation abilities.
  • Knowledge of current special education laws and evidence-based interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct formal psychological evaluations to assess learning, behavior, and mental health needs.
  • Consult with educators, parents, and other professionals regarding interventions and strategies.
  • Develop, contribute to, and help implement IEPs and 504 Plans.
  • Provide short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and skill-building to students.
  • Facilitate or participate in RTI and MTSS initiatives.
  • Advocate for student well-being and contribute to a positive school climate.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulations.

Key Qualifications:
  • Masters or specialist degree from a program in school psychology
  • Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience administering and interpreting educational, behavioral, and cognitive assessments
  • Skilled in collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families for comprehensive student planning
  • Strong communication, consultation, and documentation abilities
  • Knowledge of current special education laws and evidence-based intervention strategies
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct formal psychological evaluations to assess learning, behavior, and mental health needs
  • Consult with educators, parents, and other professionals regarding interventions and strategies
  • Develop, contribute to, and help implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans
  • Provide short-term counseling, crisis intervention, and skill-building to students
  • Facilitate or participate in Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) initiatives
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive school climate by advocating for students well-being
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with local and federal regulations
