Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is hiring a contract school psychologist to support two Chicago, IL campuses in-person, handling a caseload of about 60 students and collaborating with staff, families, and multi-disciplinary teams.

You will promote academic and emotional growth, ensure compliance with IDEA, MTSS, and 504; prepare reports; participate in planning meetings; and stay current with best practices.

Qualifications

• Masters degree or higher in Psychology or Educational Psychology.
• Active, valid PEL with School Psychologist Endorsement in Illinois.
• Minimum of 2 years school-based experience as a school psychologist.
• Strong alignment with equity, integrity, and perseverance for student success.
• Persistent and intentional approach to supporting the needs of each student.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prevent, and support academic and social-emotional needs.
• Collaborate with SPED, 504, MTSS teams for evaluations and tailored plans.
• Ensure compliance with special education, 504, and MTSS deadlines and regulations.
• Serve as consultant and intervention leader for Tier 3 scholars, overseeing progress monitoring systems
• Prepare and present comprehensive reports and participate in eligibility and planning meetings
• Request and manage confidential records from outside agencies with appropriate authorization
• Maintain accurate records of services, collaboration, and progress monitoring data
• Stay updated on best practices and share expertise through professional development and team collaboration
• Act as a liaison and content expert on matters of child development and learning disorders, providing information and support to parents and staff
