Job summary

Bay City Independent School District Special Programs is seeking a School Psychologist to join a multidisciplinary team responsible for evaluating students referred to Special Education and for conducting psycho-educational assessments. The role supports consultation with staff and parents to improve behavioral outcomes and may provide counseling or social skills instruction as needed.

The position reports to the Director of Special Programs, with responsibilities including ARD/IEP involvement,

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in educational assessment from an accredited college or university.
  • Current licensure as School Psychologist by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council.
  • Ability to travel to schools within the District.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic procedures and evaluation for Special Education.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate students to determine Special Education eligibility.
  • Conduct psycho-educational assessments and interpret results.
  • Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and prepare evaluation reports.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to improve student outcomes.
  • Provide counseling or social skills instruction as needed.
