Job summary

West Contra Costa Unified School District is seeking a School Psychologist to provide psychological services in the schools, collaborating with children, teachers, parents, and community agencies.

Responsibilities include psycho-educational assessments, counseling, and consultation to improve learning outcomes and behavior. Work includes coordinating with SELPA and complying with district policies.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in school psychology required.
• Clear Pupil Services Credential with authorization in school Psychology and at least one year internship.

Responsibilities

• Consult with school administrators on learning objectives and remedial programs.
• Assist teachers in developing classroom methods to improve pupil learning and address behavior disorders.
• Consult with parents to assist in understanding children's learning and adjustment.
• Conduct psycho-educational assessments of learning, emotional, and behavioral disabilities and provide remediation recommendations.
• Provide psychological counseling to children and parents including parent education.
• Collaborate with community agencies (child protective services, probation, mental health clinics, welfare, attendance boards).
• Supervise pupil personnel services staff as assigned.
• Collect and interpret group data to support district objectives.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on child health, education, welfare, and assessment/consultation services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
