Job summary

East Haven Public Schools seeks a School Psychologist to support students academically, socially, and emotionally within East Haven Academy. The role requires CT certification (070) and a relevant master’s degree, plus collaboration with families and staff to implement FBA/BIP and PPT processes.

The psychologist will assess psycho-educational needs, provide counseling, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for teachers and parents to enhance learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold CT certification in School Psychology (070).
• Masters degree preferred for advanced practice.
• Experience with SPED and 504 laws, PPT process.
• Strong collaboration with families and professionals required.

Responsibilities

• Understand SPED and Section 504 laws and PPT procedures.
• Communicate with students, families, and professionals; collaborate with staff.
• Develop and implement FBA and BIP based on data analysis.
• Evaluate behavior via observations, interviews, and records; use findings for recommendations.
• Assess psycho-educational strengths and needs of students.
• Provide individual and group counseling as needed.
• Explain findings to teachers to support academic progress.
• Advise parents to facilitate educational progress for children.
