Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking a Bilingual School Psychologist for the 2024-2025 school year. The role involves working with students with disabilities, conducting assessments, providing counseling, and collaborating with educational staff. Candidates should have NYS certification and a commitment to supporting students' social and emotional needs.
Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates the need for a Bilingual School Psychologist for the 2024-2025 school year to work with students with disabilities attending PNW BOCES programs. Depending upon assignments, duties may include completing psycho-educational assessments, providing indicated IEP individual and group counseling services, collaborating with other professionals and/or agencies that provide services, consulting with and providing support to special education teachers, completing Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans, working with students' families and support networks, providing referral and linking services for both students and families, assisting families in completing necessary applications for recommended services, and maintaining accurate documentation of services provided.
NYS School Psychologist certification required. Knowledge of evidenced-based practices that support social and emotional needs within various settings. Knowledge MTSS systems DBT and behavior analysis preferred.
Extensive knowledge of approaches for students with autism, emotional disabilities, and/or multiple disabilities. Ability to positively manage student behavior in a school setting. Must be organized; able to document mandated services and can work in multiple teams. Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
