Job summary

Onward Education is seeking dedicated School Psychologists to support Elementary students for the upcoming school year. You will promote students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success by partnering with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

You will conduct psychoeducational evaluations, provide counseling, collaborate on student support plans, and participate in IEP/504 meetings to ensure equitable access to services and a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's, Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a School Psychologist (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and participating in IEP meetings preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations to determine students' strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.
  • Administer and interpret cognitive, academic, behavioral, adaptive, and social-emotional assessments.
  • Develop written evaluation reports with clear recommendations to support student success.
  • Assist in identifying learning disabilities, developmental delays, behavioral concerns, and mental health needs.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students' social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions focused on emotional regulation, coping skills, social skills, and positive behavior.
  • Support students experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or other challenges impacting their educational performance.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to develop effective student support plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams, including IEP and Section 504 meetings.
  • Consult with staff on classroom management strategies, behavior intervention plans, accommodations, and student progress.
  • Promote positive school climate through prevention and early intervention initiatives.
  • Support school-wide programs focused on social-emotional learning (SEL), restorative practices, trauma-informed care, and bullying prevention.
  • Provide professional development and resources to staff on student mental health and behavioral supports.
  • Assist in crisis prevention, intervention, and post-crisis recovery efforts.
  • Provide counseling and consultation following critical incidents, including student or staff emergencies, natural disasters, or other traumatic events.
  • Support students, families, and staff during recovery while promoting resilience.
  • Monitor student progress using data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Analyze assessment and behavioral data to inform educational planning and decision-making.
  • Contribute to evidence-based practices that improve student outcomes.
  • Advocate for equitable access to educational opportunities, mental health services, and appropriate supports for all students.
  • Foster inclusive learning environments that recognize and respect diverse cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:
Assessment & Evaluation
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological and educational evaluations to determine students' strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.
