We are currently seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to join our Student Services team for the 20252026 school year. This is a full-time position supporting a diverse student population and working collaboratively with educators, families, and community partners.
Position Summary
The School Psychologist will play an essential role in supporting the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development of students. This position involves conducting comprehensive evaluations, providing direct and consultative services, supporting special education processes, and promoting school-wide mental health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments to determine student eligibility for special education services under IDEA.
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and mental health support for students individually and in small groups.
- Collaborate with school teams, including teachers, administrators, and related service providers, to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Assist in the development of behavior intervention plans and data-driven academic or emotional support strategies.
- Support Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RtI) frameworks.
- Participate in IEP and Section 504 meetings as needed.
- Promote a positive school climate and advocate for student well-being.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to compliance timelines and ethical guidelines.
- Provide training and consultation to school staff and families on a variety of topics related to student learning and mental health.
Qualifications
- Masters or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology from a NASP-approved program.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist endorsement.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special education and student services.
- Proficient in administering and interpreting cognitive, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional assessments.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to equity, inclusivity, and culturally responsive practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in diverse, urban school settings.
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with data collection tools and digital IEP management systems.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive weekly pay: $40 $52 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
