Job summary

Madison District Public Schools is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to support students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success. The role collaborates with educators, families, and community partners to provide comprehensive psychological services and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master's, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology and a valid Michigan School Psychologist Certificate or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Master's, Specialist, or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.
• Valid Michigan School Psychologist Certificate or eligibility for certification.
• Knowledge of special education laws, IDEA, Section 504, and Michigan Special Education Rules.
• Experience administering and interpreting psychological assessments.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services.
• Interpret assessment results and prepare written reports in compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Participate as an active member of Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams.
• Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student learning, behavior, and mental health needs.
• Assist in developing and implementing behavioral intervention plans and academic supports.
• Provide crisis intervention and support following student or school emergencies.
• Monitor student progress and recommend appropriate interventions.
• Support MTSS and RTI processes.
• Collaborate with outside agencies and service providers as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
• Provide professional development and consultation to staff on mental health, behavior, and learning strategies.
• Stay current on best practices, legal requirements, and ethical standards in school psychology.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
