Job summary

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to join a Bloomfield, Michigan school district for the current school year. This full-time, in-person role covers two elementary schools and offers a supportive multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities include psychoeducational evaluations, report writing, IEP/eligibility participation, and collaboration with teachers, families, and staff to support student success and well-being.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan School Psychologist certification or licensure
• Master's, Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
• Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and writing evaluation reports
• Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices
• Strong communication, consultation, and collaboration skills
• Previous school-based experience preferred
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and assessments for students referred for special education services.
• Interpret assessment results and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports.
• Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to support student success.
• Provide consultation regarding behavioral, academic, social, and emotional interventions.
• Assist in the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans and student support strategies.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
• Support students across two elementary school campuses and collaborate with building teams to address student needs.
• Promote positive school climate initiatives and support student mental health and well-being.
