Job summary

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to support students in a school-based setting in Boydton, Virginia. The role focuses on assessment, intervention, collaboration, and ensuring academic, behavioral, and social-emotional success.

The position requires specialist-level training in school psychology and Virginia licensure, with NCSP a plus. You will work with educators, families, and related service providers to promote student achievement.

Qualifications

• Specialist Ed.S./Ph.D./Psy.D. in School Psychology required.
• Active Virginia School Psychologist certification/licensure required (or through reciprocity).
• NCSP certification is a plus and school-based experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychoeducational evaluations (initial and reevaluations) for special education eligibility.
• Participate in MTSS/RTI processes and design/monitor Tier 2 and 3 interventions.
• Provide behavioral and social-emotional support, FBAs, and BIPs; support students with mental health needs.
• Maintain compliance with IDEA and Virginia DOE guidelines and accurate documentation.

Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to support students within a school-based setting in Boydton, Virginia. Job Title: School Psychologist

Location: Boydton, VA 23917

Schedule: Full-time, school-based

Key Responsibilities

Psychoeducational Evaluations

• Conduct initial and reevaluation assessments for students referred for special education services.
• Interpret assessment data and prepare comprehensive psychological reports.
• Present findings and recommendations during eligibility and IEP meetings.

MTSS / RTI Support

• Participate in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) processes.
• Assist in designing, implementing, and monitoring Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
• Utilize data-driven decision-making to support student referrals and interventions.

Behavioral & Social-Emotional Support

• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
• Develop and support implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Support students with emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.

Compliance & Documentation

• Maintain compliance with IDEA regulations and Virginia Department of Education guidelines.
• Ensure accurate documentation, evaluation timelines, progress reports, and student records.

Qualifications

• Specialist (Ed.S.), Ph.D., or Psy.D. in School Psychology
• Active Virginia School Psychologist certification/licensure required (or ability to obtain through reciprocity).
• NCSP certification is aplus
• Previous school-based experience is aplus
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively support multidisciplinary teams and diverse student populations.
