Job summary

SPG Therapy & Education, a California-based clinical team, is hiring School Psychologists to support students and families through psychoeducational assessments and collaborative planning.

The role requires a valid California PPS Credential in School Psychology, in-person work with school teams, and a commitment to ongoing professional development and mentorship to empower children’s growth.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid California PPS Credential in School Psychology.
• Ability to work in person.
• Proficiency connecting with students and families, working with school teams.
• Eagerness to learn, grow, and continually develop professional expertise.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychoeducational assessments for referred students in accordance with California DOE and Federal guidelines.
• Prepare comprehensive, legally defensible written reports with diagnoses and recommendations per State and Federal guidelines.
• Certify pupils’ eligibility for placement in special education services.
• Participate in IEP meetings following due process timelines.
• Provide counseling services to students as needed.
• Provide consultative support to administrators, parents, students, school-based personnel and SPG staff on special education guidelines and related issues.

What We're Looking For:

• Valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Psychology
• Ability to work in person
• Proficiency in connecting with students and families, working alongside school teams

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Conduct psychoeducational assessments for referred students in accordance with California Department of Education and Federal guidelines.
• Prepare comprehensive, legally defensible written reports of assessment findings with diagnoses and specific recommendations, in accordance with State and Federal guidelines.
• Certify pupils’ eligibility for placement in special education services, programs or classes in accordance with their individual physical, mental and emotional needs.
• Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, following due process timelines.
• Provide counseling services to students, as needed.
• Provide consultative support to administrators, parents, students, school-based personnel and SPG staff on matters pertaining to special education procedures and guidelines, mental health issues, child development, student behavior, learning problems and relevant intervention strategies and recommendations.
