School Psychologist – Mt. Joy, PA
Job Summary
This position is to perform psycho-educational tasks as assigned by the Coordinator of Special Education and Alternative Education Programs. Responsibilities include evaluating children’s intellectual, academic, social, and affective development, providing recommendations, consulting with parents, teachers, and administrators, serving as liaison, providing curriculum review, educating staff, participating in hiring, budgeting, supervising interns, and team membership.
Essential Functions
- Evaluates individual children’s levels of intellectual, academic functioning, social, and affective development, reports findings and recommendations.
- Serves as consultant and makes recommendations to parents, teachers, and administrators regarding the psychological and educational needs of individual students.
- Meets with parents of children evaluated where deemed advisable to communicate results.
- Serves as liaison between district, I.U. 13, and other outside agencies.
- Provides leadership with curriculum for exceptional children by careful review of planned courses grade by grade and recommending revisions.
- Assists in providing ongoing education to administration and faculty regarding services for exceptional students.
- Participates in interviewing and selection of new personnel for division.
- Develops budget for psychologist division and supervises psychologist interns.
- Serves as member of IST teams and performs other job‑related duties as appropriate.
- Maintains optimum relationships with staff, courteous, confidential, and professional.
Minimum Requirements
- School psychologist certification.
