Job summary

Onward Education in Michigan partners with a Wayne County school district to hire a dedicated School Psychologist for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite role supports K-12 students through psychoeducational evaluations, consultation, intervention planning, and collaboration with educators and families.

Qualifications

  • Master’s, Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
  • Valid Michigan School Psychologist certificate, approval, or license through the Michigan Department of Education
  • Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations in a school setting preferred
  • Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, special education eligibility, and IEP processes
  • Strong assessment, report-writing, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to supporting the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of K-12 students

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations, including cognitive, academic, behavioral, adaptive, and social-emotional assessments.
  • Interpret assessment results and communicate findings effectively to parents, educators, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in special education eligibility determinations and support the development of IEPs.
  • Provide consultation to teachers, administrators, and families regarding student learning, behavior, and mental health needs.
  • Support the implementation of evidence-based academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
  • Conduct observations, data collection, and progress monitoring to support student success.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, IEP meetings, and manifestation determinations as needed.
  • Assist with crisis intervention, threat assessment, and student support initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
