Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in assigned pay grade.

A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations.

Nature of Work

This is part-time work in the protection of life through enforcement of traffic regulations. This job requires you to work outside regardless of weather conditions.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

• Remains in vicinity of greatest danger to children going to and from school.
• Controls traffic of children and vehicles to allow safe street crossings.
• Slows fast moving traffic passing a school.
• Reports reckless drivers and traffic violators.
• Testifies in court relating to traffic violations.
• Assists school patrol in controlling traffic and street crossings.
• Performs related work as required.

Special Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be certified by licensed physician, designated as satisfactory by the appointing authority as in good health, and physically fit for the performance of assigned duties.

NOTE: This is a Civilian position and does not have sworn status.
