Job summary

Education Jobs NJ is seeking a paraprofessional for Salem City School District. Ten-month employment with a salary range of $24,907–$34,500, reporting to the Building Principal. Responsibilities include supporting instructional staff, assisting with group activities, and handling clerical duties to aid student success.

Qualifications require either 48 college credits plus para-professional test passing, or 60 college credits with a 2.0 GPA. Benefits and district supports are included.

• 60 College Credits & a GPA of 2.0

Responsibilities

• Assists with the implementation of special strategies for reinforcement of materials or skills introduced by the classroom teacher.
• Assists with whole group/small group activities (center activities, drill work, reading aloud, etc).
• Reports any classroom problem or information about a student to the teacher.
• Maintains ethical behavior and confidentiality.
• Operates and cares for instructional equipment.
• Assists with supervision of students during out-of-classroom activities.
• Assists in carrying out behavior modification programs for students.
• Informs and assists substitute teachers with daily routines.
• Assists with general routines including arranging materials and equipment.
• Assists with housekeeping tasks and preparing bulletin boards/centers.
• Escort students to special subjects and assist with hygiene and bathroom needs.
• Performs clerical tasks (attendance, lunch counts, field trip records).
• Participates in school-wide duties (playground, breakfast, bus, etc.).
• Attends in-service meetings as directed by administration.
• Assists in activities to improve school climate.
• Performs other duties as directed by administration.
