Job summary

Responsibilities include administering tests and assignments, guiding students in independent study, maintaining records and materials, monitoring student behavior, attending meetings, and providing clerical support to teachers to ensure a safe, productive classroom.

Qualifications

• Hold an associate’s degree or higher in any subject; or
• Have passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment. If eligibility is established through the assessment, the applicant must also hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Administers tests, homework assignments, make-up work for teachers’ instructional support.
• Assists students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Assists with instructional programs and lesson plans under supervision to improve academic success.
• Attends meetings and in-service presentations to convey information relevant to job functions.
• Guides students in independent study to support student success.
• Maintains classroom equipment, work area, and student records for reliability and accessibility.
• Performs record keeping and clerical functions to support the teacher and provide necessary materials.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor for efficient functioning.
• Prepares documents (memos, displays) for written communication.
