Job summary

Columbia Public School District is seeking a Paraprofessional (2025-26) to provide instructional support to students receiving special education services under teacher supervision. Paraprofessional levels vary by assignment, with higher levels paid accordingly.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, managing behavior, providing direct caregiving, attending training, and adhering to district policies to support student learning and safety.

Qualifications

• Completion of the 20-hour Substitute Training Course or passing of the Paraprofessional Exam.
• Preferred: Official transcripts with 60 hours of college credit.
• Ability to work well with students in a fast-paced school environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare student materials and reinforce previously taught material.
• Manage student behavior and classroom organization, implement policies, rules and/or regulations.
• Provide direct caregiving services under the supervision of teachers and staff.
• Attend yearly in-service training (10 to 15 hours).
• Adhere to district policies and procedures.
