Job summary

Columbia Public School District is seeking a Paraprofessional for the 2025-26 school year to assist students receiving special education services under teacher supervision. The role covers classroom support, behavior management, and direct caregiving as needed.

Ideal candidates will have 60+ college credits or completed paraprofessional training and demonstrate professionalism and strong teamwork in a dynamic school environment in Columbia, MO.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Completion of the 20-hour Substitute Training Course by start date; or Passing of the Paraprofessional Exam by start date; or 60+ college credits.
• Preferred: Official Transcripts with 60 hours of college credit.
• Ideal candidate will have a professional and friendly demeanor with ability to work with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare student material and reinforce previously taught material as described by the teacher.
• Manage student behavior and classroom organization, implement policies, rules and/or regulations.
• Provide direct caregiving services (feeding, toileting, personal care) under supervision.
• Attend and document required yearly in-service training (10 to 15 hours).
• Perform other duties to support the district mission.
