Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Must have completed 2 years of post-secondary education (48 hours) OR an Associate's Degree or higher OR have passed the OGET/ParaPro/Workkeys tests.
• Progress in instructional training opportunities or willingness to pursue them.
• Alternative qualifications as the Board finds appropriate and acceptable.
• Substitute teaching or teaching assistance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists children in classrooms with instructional tasks as assigned by the principal.
• Assists with classroom management to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
• Complies with safety, health procedures, school policies, and regulations.
• Provides classroom coverage/support to foster student safety.
• Maintains confidentiality and ethical behavior consistent with licensed teachers.
• Other duties as assigned.
