Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
• Licensed Occupational Therapist by Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent program (pre-2007).

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide individual and group therapy in the school setting.
• Evaluate student progress and determine therapy termination readiness.
• Assist students with fine motor skills, self-help, and sensory processing.
• Conduct individual evaluations to determine eligibility for services.
• Develop management strategies and interpret observations/data.
• Participate in ARD Committee for placement and goal setting.
• Counsel and involve parents in remedial process; collaborate with teachers and staff.
• Provide professional development to schools on fine motor deficits.
• Communicate progress and therapy needs to colleagues, students, and parents.
• May supervise COTA and coordinate ongoing evaluation of OT services.
• Compile and maintain required reports and documents; comply with district policies.
