Job summary

Del Valle Independent School District Central Administration - Department of Special Education in Del Valle, TX seeks an Occupational Therapist to plan and provide therapy to students receiving Special Education Services. Requires a OT bachelor’s degree, TX OT license, and fingerprinting clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy or related program.
• Valid Texas license as an occupational therapist.
• Fingerprinting background check required (approx. $50).
• Experience in school setting preferred.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation procedures and OT equipment.
• Ability to instruct students and manage behavior.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide direct and consultative OT services aligned with IEP goals.
• Evaluate progress and determine when dismissal is appropriate.
• Design, construct, or modify adaptive equipment to promote independence.
• Create a learning-friendly environment and assistive technology support.
• Participate in ARD meetings and collaborate with school personnel.
• Monitor therapy effectiveness and adjust interventions as needed.
• Document services to ensure accountability and reimbursement standards.
