Job summary

Allied Instructional is seeking an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in Savannah, GA. The contractor will provide itinerant O&M services to students with visual impairments, collaborating with school teams to assess needs and support IEP development.

The role requires certification in Orientation and Mobility, strong assessment and collaboration skills, and the ability to work with diverse educational teams in a local school setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Professional Certification and/or licensure in Orientation and Mobility
• Experience writing and implementing IEPs
• Experience conducting and writing Orientation and Mobility assessments and recommendations
• Working knowledge of travel skills for students with blindness or low vision
• Experience providing consultation and training to teachers and service providers relating to visual impairments

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessments and related services to school-aged students
• Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs specific to visual impairments
• Conduct and write Orientation and Mobility assessments and recommendations
• Provide consultation and training to teachers and service providers
• Collaborate with parents, co-workers, school staff, and service providers
