Job summary

STAUNTON RIVER HIGH is seeking a Zone Nutrition Worker to support meal prep and service across Forest Middle School and other sites within the Forest Zone. The role requires a 180-day school nutrition schedule and involves operating kitchen equipment, cashier duties, and ensuring meals are served safely.

Preferred candidates have a high school diploma (or GED), ServSafe certification within 6 months, and 2–3 years of school cafeteria or 5 years food service experience, plus a valid driver's

Qualifications

• Commercial Food Service Equipment: operate safely.
• Computer and Cash Register proficiency for transaction processing.
• Adaptability to multiple kitchen environments within the district.
• Effective communication with coworkers, students, and staff.
• Reliability and punctuality in attendance and duties.
• Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation and Production: prepare and cook items per menus and recipes.
• Service Line Setup and Stocking: set up line and ensure items and supplies are displayed.
• Cashier Operations and Support: handle transactions and assist students with accounts.
• Meal Service and Student Assistance: serve meals and assist students, including those with special needs.
• Sanitation and Equipment Maintenance: clean and sanitize all equipment and surfaces.
