Job summary

Craven County Schools in New Bern, NC, is seeking a School Nutrition Warehouse Employee to manage central dry and refrigerated food and supplies for 22 schools. The role involves physical warehouse work, inventory control, and coordinating deliveries from a central store to schools.

You will work with the Warehouse Manager II, perform FIFO storage, document temperature logs, unload deliveries, and help maintain equipment; a valid NC driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school; Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience with inventory control procedures and warehouse management.

Responsibilities

• Perform general warehouse duties to include receipt, storage and maintenance of central dry and refrigerated food and supplies.
• Work with Warehouse Manager II to ensure timely delivery of goods from central storage to schools outlined.
• Communicate needs of school regarding food quality and other general issues regarding delivery and storage of warehouse foods and supplies.
• Work with Warehouse Manager II to ensure the proper flow of food entering and leaving the warehouse.
• Use proper FIFO methods of food storage.
• Documents accurate record for proper temperature maintenance of refrigeration equipment; request service as indicated.
• Unload food and supplies from delivery drivers and store properly in required locations.
• Work with School Nutrition Maintenance employee on preventative maintenance of all school nutrition equipment.
• Keep log of all preventative maintenance done on equipment and document future service dates.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the director.
