Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; culinary education a plus.
• 3+ years in food service with leadership or supervisory experience.
• ServSafe certification required where mandated by jurisdiction.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for most of the day.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen operations from meal prep to service with quality and care.
• Open and close the kitchen, manage inventory and reduce waste.
• Motivate and guide the team to a positive, productive work environment.
• hands-on 90% of the day in kitchen and serving area.
• Ensure cleanliness, safety and readiness for health inspections.
• Assist with menu planning, food ordering and using government commodities.
• Ensure each plate meets taste, nutrition and presentation standards.
• Address student and staff feedback with positivity and solutions.
• Celebrate special menus, wellness programs and school events.
