Job summary

Harmony School of Excellence - Laredo is seeking a dedicated Child Nutrition worker to manage day‑to‑day cafeteria operations. You will ensure compliance with USDA rules, process student eligibility, and monitor accounts while supporting wellness initiatives.

The role requires a high school education, a Food Manager Certification, and related experience; some duties include snack and a la carte program support and daily record keeping.

Qualifications

• High School GED or Diploma required.
• Current Food Manager Certification preferred or obtained within 2 weeks of employment.
• A minimum of 1 year school food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process Student Eligibility applications and USDA-verified enrollments.
• Monitor lunch accounts and notify households of negative balances.
• Review daily meal production records for accuracy and discrepancies.
• Operate POS during breakfast, lunch, and snack times for reimbursable meals.
• Maintain documentation for Special Dietary Accommodations as per USDA.
• Operate After School Snack Program or a la carte program if offered.
• Participate in Local School Wellness Policy activities and document progress.
• Record meal counts and revenue daily and report discrepancies.
