Job summary

Henry County Schools is seeking a School Nutrition Assistant to prepare, cook, serve, and store meals following HACCP and Health Department standards. You will follow production schedules, supervise students as needed, and uphold nutrition program policies.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong integrity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced school environment while maintaining confidentiality and safety for students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE), preferred.
• Exceptional integrity and strong professional reputation.
• Ability to comply with ethics codes for educators and staff.
• Must be regularly present and reliable at work.
• Ability to supervise students, including during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve food per established procedures.
• Follow daily production schedules and prepare recipes as written.
• Clean utensils and equipment; dispose of waste and mop floors.
• Utilize leftovers as directed and store items properly.
• Maintain and operate equipment as trained.
• Follow chemical-use instructions per program guidelines.
• Adhere to Federal, State, and Local policies and regulations.
• Follow rules for staff and uniform standards.
• Demonstrate willingness to improve job-related skills.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Complete required trainings including 30-hour Orientation for Nutrition Employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrators.
