Job summary

Henry County Schools is seeking a School Nutrition Assistant to prepare, cook, serve, and store meals according to institutional procedures and Health Department requirements. You will follow meal accountability procedures, cashiering, and adhere to all standards while supporting a safe, clean dining operation.

The role requires regular on-site presence, adherence to ethics, confidentiality, and the ability to supervise students during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state-approved HSE preferred.
• Integrity, confidentiality, excellent character, and strong reputation.
• Must follow Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
• Be regularly present and reliable at work.
• Ability to work at the physical worksite.
• Supervise students, especially during emergencies.
• Ability to endure extreme cold or heat conditions.
• Stand for long periods; walking and sitting; some kneeling.
• Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication; confidentiality emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve food per HACCP procedures.
• Follow daily production schedules and recipes as written.
• Clean utensils and equipment; dispose of garbage; mop floors.
• Use leftovers as directed and store items properly.
• Operate and maintain equipment as trained.
• Follow chemical-use instructions for the program.
• Adhere to Federal, State, and Local policies and procedures.
• Comply with Classified Employees Work Rules and Uniform Standards.
• Demonstrate ongoing skill improvement and serve students well.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Complete required training, including annual local and 30-hour orientation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrator.
