Job summary

The School District of Lee County Pinewoods Elementary - Estero, Florida is seeking a Worker in Food and Nutrition Services. The role supports meal preparation and serving, maintains kitchen cleanliness, and handles cash transactions in a school setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain within the first year). Preference given to applicants with 1 year of institutional food service experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Food Handler Certification or the ability to obtain within the first year of employment.
• One year of experience in commercial or institutional food service preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and privacy laws related to students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive attitude toward all students and staff.
• Prepare or assist in the preparation of a variety of foods, following recipes and menus.
• Set up serving lines, serve meals and beverages, and monitor portion controls.
• Store foods and supplies; assist in inventories.
• Handle money and tickets; record transactions and maintain accountability of sales.
• Wash and sanitize dishes; clean work areas and equipment; dispose of wastes properly.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment; keep area orderly and safe.
• Assist new staff or volunteers and attend required trainings.
