Overview

JOB GOAL: To assist the Food Service Manager in providing each child with food of high nutritious quality in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness, and personal caring.

• Must be reliable and cooperative

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred

Food Service Manager

Supervision

This position does not supervise others.

Performance Responsibilities

• Follow instructions and carry out assigned responsibilities.
• Cooperate with manager, co-workers, teachers, and principal
• Cooperate with school food service workers in other schools when necessary
• Prepare and serve food
• Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the principal or manager may assign from time to time

Work Environment

• Work in a kitchen environment
• May involve exposure to extreme heat and cold
• Works with hands in hot water and chemicals approved for use in the school nutrition program
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
• Physical Demands: Frequent stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and/or reaching overhead
• Prolonged periods of standing on concrete floors
• Routinely lift/push/pull items up to 40 pounds
• Able to meet uniform/dress requirements
