Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; three years school food service experience including one year kitchen lead experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have Food Handlers Permit.
• Must be AFSA certified within three (3) years after being placed in a manager position.

Responsibilities

• Oversees kitchen operations and supervises employees including workloads, hires/terminations, evaluations, training, and policy implementation.
• Orders food and non-food items; manages inventory; participates in meal programs; verifies orders against packing slips.
• Promotes positive relations between schools, District, parents, Food Services and students; handles conflicts diplomatically.
• Prepares daily food use reports; ensures compliance with National School Meal guidelines; submits reports to District office.
• Assists in food production and clerical work as needed; determines areas needing extra help.
• Performs payroll reporting duties and tracks hours, vacation, sick, and leave; submits to District office.
• Takes inventory to maintain adequate supplies.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
