Job summary

Montgomery-Public-Schools seeks a diligent Child Nutrition Program Worker to support daily meal preparation and service. You will assist with storage, inventory, sanitation, and operation of kitchen equipment while rotating through various CNP activities as needed.

The role requires adherence to USDA guidelines, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and reliable attendance. You will participate in ongoing training and work within a team to uphold school nutrition standards at Baldwin County

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act and Act No. 2002-457.
• Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow Child Nutrition Program guidelines and regulations.
• Ability to use technology as required to perform job responsibilities.
• Ability to complete annual continuing education training as required by the USDA.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to be punctual and maintain regular attendance.
• Alternative qualifications may be required by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and service of food according to daily menu and supervisor instructions.
• Perform food storage, inventory control, equipment cleaning, and sanitation tasks.
• Operate food service equipment following procedures.
• Rotate through duties including cashier, server, dish machine operator, and kitchen cleanup.
• Maintain professional dress and hygiene suitable for food service.
• Observe safety precautions in kitchen and work areas.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain high CNP standards.
• Follow instructions and communicate effectively with staff and vendors.
• Participate in in-service training and professional development.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate initiative for improvement.
• Report problems or irregularities to supervisors as needed.
• Submit reports and records timely and accurately.
• Use and care for tools and equipment properly.
