Job summary

Abby Kelley Foster Charter Public School in Worcester, MA is seeking an Assistant Director of Nutrition. This 40-hour, 10-month, non-exempt role supports the Director of Nutritional Services in managing food service operations and NSLP compliance.

The position runs 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends for events. The role requires supervisory experience, strong planning, and ServSafe certification within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years of experience in quantity food service production.
• At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be ServSafe certified within 6 months of hire if not already certified.
• Strong planning and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nutritional Services to meet NSLP requirements and safety standards.
• Prepare and cook in large quantities to ensure timely service.
• Maintain inventory records and ensure department coverage during absences.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and the community to serve students’ needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nutritional Services.
