Job summary

Denton Independent School District's Child Nutrition department seeks a dedicated Child Nutrition Manager for the Middle School Pool for the 2026-27 year. The role supervises campus food service, trains staff, and ensures compliance with National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.

This supervisory position reports to the Child Nutrition Field Supervisor, works with campus principals, manages production records, inventories, payroll data, and maintains safety standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; Food Manager Certification; TASN and/or SNA membership preferred.
• Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment and appliances used in food preparation; Ability to manage personnel; Effective planning and organizational skills.
• Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in managing a school food service operation.

Responsibilities

• Produces and maintains work schedules and production records.
• Directs daily activities in kitchen and cafeteria.
• Maintains serving schedules and serves food items per menu and policies.
• Cooperates with campus principal to adjust schedules and resolve personnel issues.
• Supervises and trains campus-level staff to promote efficiency and teamwork.
• Ensures food safety and high quality according to policies and requirements.
• Maintains and submits daily/monthly financial, production and activity records.
• Maintains payroll reporting information.
• Stores food items safely and maintains hazard-free environments.
• Establishes cleanliness, health, and safety standards following codes.
• Maintains safe work environment and inventories supplies.
• Performs preventive maintenance and reports equipment repairs.
