Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools Newton-Lee Elementary School in Ashburn, Virginia seeks a School Nutrition Lead to support the SNS Manager in daily cafeteria operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state nutrition and safety standards.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, cashiering, handling orders, reviewing deliveries, and maintaining accurate production records, while delivering high levels of customer service to students, staff and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a current ServSafe certification.
• Must obtain an SNA Level 1 Certificate within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of food service methods and safety procedures.
• Ability to read standardized recipes and other technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Supports the SNS Manager in daily cafeteria operations.
• Supervise food service staff and train them for food service tasks (food prep, service, cleanup, cashiering).
• Learn and follow USDA regulations governing programs.
• Communicate effectively with staff and customers.
• Order weekly supplies by due dates based on inventory.
• Forecast production needs as requested by the School Nutrition Manager.
• Check quality and accuracy of deliveries and invoices.
• Act as manager in the manager’s absence and as cashier when needed.
