Job summary

Parsons Unified School District 503 is seeking a Child Nutrition Staff member to support meal preparation and service in a busy school kitchen. You will follow tested recipes, portion control, safety and sanitation standards, and maintain records as required.

Starting immediately, you will work under supervision to ensure timely meals, proper food handling, and teamwork with staff. Experience is not required, but high school diploma or GED is preferred; training provided on-site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to understand written and verbal food preparation and safety instructions.
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures.
• Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools.
• Ability to perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality food according to a planned menu of tested and uniform recipes.
• Serve food according to meal schedules, policies and procedures, and promote portion control and proper use of leftovers.
• Store and handle food items and supplies safely and according to procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized storage area.
• Operate kitchen tools and equipment according to safety standards.
