Job summary

Nutri-Serve is seeking a Food Service Director to manage the district's meal program, supervise kitchen staff, plan menus, purchase supplies, and handle financial reporting for the district and state requirements in New Jersey.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with progressive food service experience, Serve Safe certification, ability to travel between schools, and strong leadership to maintain food quality, safety, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years general food service experience for Director I.
• Director II requires 3–4 years food service experience, preferably in a school district setting.
• Director III requires 5–6 years food service experience, preferably in a school district setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the production of all meals and maintains kitchen cleanliness.
• Coordinates menu planning, purchasing and ordering of supplies for the district.
• Supervises staff, recruits and trains new employees, and ensures timely performance feedback.
• Maintains financial records, reporting, and successful annual audits.
• Develops strong customer relationships with the school district and Nutri-Serve staff.
