Job summary

North Gibson School Corporation is seeking a part-time cafeteria assistant to help operate a well-organized food service area for students. The role involves unloading deliveries, distributing inventory, preparing meals, and cashiering during breakfast and lunch periods.

Candidates should be high school graduates with basic reading, writing, and communication skills; food service experience is preferred. Training programs will be provided, and the Food Services department oversees daily

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Experience in the food service industry preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend correspondence, memos, instructions, and documents.
• Ability to write reports and correspondence with correct grammar and punctuation.
• Ability to speak effectively with staff, students and community.

Responsibilities

• Unload delivery trucks on Monday and Thursday starting at 5:00 AM.
• Deliver inventory food and supplies to schools throughout NGSC.
• Deliver prepared food to elementary schools.
• Prepare for breakfast and lunch (ice, tea, menu board, weights).
• Cook or fry as assigned and record all foods prepared.
• Cashier or serve students during breakfast and lunch periods.
• Set up and refill lines for breakfast and lunch; close and clean lines.
• Record and store leftovers; empty and clean proofer daily.
• Assist with laundry and participate in training programs.
