Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year production experience in a high-volume institutional or commercial food service operation.
• Knowledge of high-volume institutional recipes and production methods.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Will County sanitation certificate or ability to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks meals for junior high students, elementary students, district faculty, and contract accounts.
• Pack meals for transport and serve meals in the school cafeteria.
• Carry out cashier duties and maintain proper accounting of meal categories.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in production and serving areas; perform dishwashing and cleaning duties.
• Follow recipes and production procedures to ensure high quality products.
• Assist in catering events within the district as required.
