Job summary

Coweta County School System is hiring a School Nutrition Cafeteria Cashier/Worker to support both lunch and breakfast programs. The role requires accurate money handling, POS record-keeping, basic food preparation, and strict sanitation compliance.

As a 180-day employee, you will follow written and oral instructions, maintain cooperative relations with staff, and serve students and staff with a friendly, professional approach. Training is provided yearly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; complete 30-hour Nutrition Orientation within the first year.
• Experience handling money and working with the public is preferred.
• Familiar with sanitation regulations and basic food prep concepts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as cashier for school lunch and breakfast programs.
• Prepare, cook, and serve quality foods; clean kitchen and cafeteria areas.
• Maintain accurate daily records of meals sold and items in POS.
• Follow procedures for free/reduced and paid meals; work with staff to keep master lists updated.
• Interact with children, parents, teachers in a pleasant, cooperative manner.
