Job summary

Qualifications

• Physically able to stand for long periods and walk throughout the day.
• Able to read recipes and follow instructions for food preparation.
• Tolerate warm, noisy work environment and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Honest, dependable, discreet regarding information about children and staff.
• Manual dexterity to handle knives and equipment.
• Able to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle for required travel.

Responsibilities

• Comply with district, department and federal Child Nutrition policies and sanitation procedures.
• Follow attendance rules and notification procedures.
• Practice good personal hygiene and time management.
• Assist in preparing food per planned menus, recipes, and nutritional requirements.
• Operate food service equipment (ovens, griddles, steamers, mixers) and dish machine.
• Handle cash register during serving times and perform basic accounting duties.
• Serve students during meals and restock serving lines as directed.
• Complete paperwork (production records, portion sheets, sanitation records).
• Attend district training and perform other duties as assigned.
