Job summary

Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools is seeking a Child Nutrition - Helper at Prior Lake High School to assist with meal service, food preparation, and sanitation in a busy school kitchen.

Under the supervision of the Director and Manager, you will learn and backup other kitchen areas, maintain safety and quality standards, and rotate through stations to gain experience. This is a non-exempt, entry-level role starting ASAP with hourly pay of $19.29–$20.89.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• One year of experience in food service or school nutrition preferred.
• Continued employment requires licenses/certifications in active status.

Responsibilities

• Assist in set up and serving of food, cleaning and sanitation tasks.
• Learn, train, and backup other kitchen areas as delegated.
• Foster a collaborative team environment to meet production and service demands.
• Promote positive interactions with students, staff and community members.
• Maintain safety, food security and cleanliness standards in the kitchen and cafeteria.
• Prepare and oversee meal production per menus and dietary guidelines.
• Rotate through kitchen positions to maintain proficiency and suggest improvements.
• Keep accurate records of food served, ordered and inventoried.
