Job summary

Colonial School District is seeking a Dietary/School Nutrition Worker to assist in preparing and serving meals for breakfast and lunch. The role includes cashiering, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include rotating through prep, serving, and dishwashing areas, learning USDA meal pattern requirements, and supporting coworkers while promoting the district's nutrition program. Regular attendance is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read and write.
• Willingness to learn meal pattern requirements per USDA Child Nutrition Program.
• ServeSafe certification preferred.
• Cashier experience preferred.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in food service areas.

Responsibilities

• Regular attendance is required.
• Work in all kitchen areas as assigned by Manager/Lead Worker.
• Take on alternating duties in food prep, serving, cashiering, dishwashing and cleaning.
• Follow safe food handling practices and maintain health and sanitation standards.
• Learn to operate, care for and clean School Nutrition equipment.
• Record daily food and supplies taken from storerooms and freezers (perpetual inventory).
• Clean and sanitize cafeteria tables after meals and during service as needed.
• Assist coworkers to expedite work and promote the District School Nutrition program.
• Cooperate with staff, faculty, and administrators.
