Job summary

Carroll County Schools’ Providence Elementary School in Temple, Georgia is seeking a part-time School Nutrition Assistant to prepare and serve meals in accordance with government rules. This role supports daily student learning by delivering healthy lunches and snacks.

The position reports to the School Nutrition Manager/Assistant Manager and requires basic math, the ability to follow directions, and good teamwork. Training classes will be provided, and a 6.5-hour shift is typical.

School Nutrition Assistant

Purpose of the position: To prepare and serve food in accordance with government rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Strategic Goal Area I—Student Achievement

1. Serves students healthy meals on a daily basis in order to support student learning.

Strategic Goal Area II—Stakeholder Engagement and Loyalty

• Works under the direction of the School Nutrition Manager/Assistant Manager.
• Demonstrates the ability to work with the school community.

Strategic Goal Area III—Efficient and Effective Operational Processes

• Practices proper procedures in food preparation, use and care of equipment, and personal habits to assure that sanitation standards are met.
• Follows standard of safety in preparing, storing, and serving food.
• Participates in implementing promotions related to the program.

Strategic Goal Area IV—Continuous System and School Improvement

1. Attends job-related training classes and workshops (All employees must complete SL1 or O.N.E. class).
