Qualifications

• Completion of training for beginning school food service personnel per 702 KAR 6:045.
• Food Handler Certification as required by the district.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and assemble food items such as sandwiches, burgers, salads, meats, fruits, vegetables, and baked goods.
• Ensure proper food quality, quantity, and timely service; complete production records.
• Set up and stock serving lines, beverages, and supplies.
• Portion and serve meals according to procedures.
• Monitor and record food temperatures per regulations.
• Operate point-of-sale system, process transactions, and reconcile funds.
• Count and claim meals; maintain required records.
• Assist with transporting food to campus or district locations.
• Maintain inventory and notify supervisors of supply needs.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Store food properly and dispose of waste.
• Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, mixers, slicers, and dishwashers.
• Assist in training new employees and student workers.
• Support food preparation, baking, and service activities.
• Perform related duties as assigned
