Job summary

Henry County Schools is seeking a School Nutrition Assistant to support meal preparation, serving, and storage in accordance with Health Department requirements. You will follow HACCP procedures, assist with cash handling where required, and ensure proper storage of all food items.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, reliability, and the ability to work at the school site during 183 days of service for 6 hours per day.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or state-approved High School Equivalency (HSE) preferred.
• Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
• Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
• Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
• Ability to be at the physical worksite.
• Must be able to supervise students, especially during emergencies.
• Ability to work in conditions with extreme cold or heat.
• Must perform tasks involving standing, walking, sitting, and occasional kneeling; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve foods following HACCP and health department guidelines.
• Follow daily production schedules and prepare recipes as written.
• Clean utensils/equipment and manage waste and floor cleaning.
• Utilize and store leftover food as directed by the manager.
• Follow instructions for chemical use in operation of the program.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations.
